DIY Body Scrub

It’s really hard to jazz up a body scrub. Some are more hydrating, fragrant, or abrasive than others, but at the end of the day most are just sugar and oil in pretty packaging. And because the last thing I would disrespect is my money, I’ve retreated from retail to the refrigerator and created a whole host of scrubs to soften my body. My favorite for winter is a cinnamon sugar scrub—it smells like a box of snickerdoodles. Here’s the recipe for this budget-practical scrub:

1 tbsp. cinnamon (increases blood circulation, promoting skin that glows; also boosts collagen production which improves skin elasticity)

3 – 4 tbsps. olive oil (moisturizes skin)

1 tbsp. honey (a natural humectant that also brightens skin)

1/3 cup brown or turbinado sugar (exfoliates skin and removes dead skin cells)

Mix the ingredients in a plastic container
