Beauty Edit: 3 Products, 1 Face

3 things

In the realm between barefaced and Saturday night fever-faced, there lies the three-product face. It’s the trio of elements that help polish without transforming. I’m wearing my three in this photo. What are they? Let’s discuss.

Concealer

With dark circles that bloomed in my early twenties, I’ve hopped on and off the merry-go-round of concealer breakthroughs, where each launch purports to be better than the last. Right now my concealer staple is It Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Under Eye (in Tan). I swear by this goodness in a tube. A tiny amount goes a long way, and it never dries or cakes. I dab no more than the size of a pea under my eyes and around my face to cover blemishes and imperfections.

Eyeliner

Even the smallest amount of eyeliner—close to the waterline and focused on the outside corners—enhances my eyes ten-fold. Sometimes I don’t even bother with mascara (like today). A smooth eye pencil pulls its weight just fine for a natural look (but swap eyeliner with mascara if you have blonde lashes). Smashbox Limitless Eye Liner in Java is my everyday favorite—it stays put and never irritates my eyes.

Lip Color

Words like “universal shade” or “flattering for all skin tones” are pretty good indicators that whatever product its attached to probably isn’t for me. Beauty for Real’s nude lip pencil is a pleasant exception. I blend the neutral shade around the rim of my lips and smudge inward for an even tone.

  1. Emma Kate says:

Sometimes women cannot go outside without wearing any makeup. Especially when they’re going to attend into a occasion. They want to look beautiful and fresh all the time. Thank you for sharing, I learn a lot of things and tips.

  2. I love how simple, and beautiful your make-up looks. It’s so easy to overdue it, and I think we forget sometimes that less really is more when it comes to make-up. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
